About DK5EW amateur radio station

DK5EW is the amateur radio call sign of E.Witt, born 1962 and radio amateur since 1980. Previous call sign has been DG3GAG and at DX Expedition HBØ/DK5EW and Panglao Island/Philippines as DX7EME * DU7/DK5EW. Main interests are VHF DX preferred operating modes digital like FSK441/JT65 on VHF. QRV also in 2m EME and Meteorscatter. Since 4m is permitted in Germany (see Info 70MHz.de) I spent lot’s of time to liven up that band. I’m team member of Make More Miles on VHF – the best VHF resource for DX Expeditions and propagation. Responsible now for the beacon section and former founder and manager of the famous MS Sprint contest.

First ever WSJT – MS QSO in Europe July 2001

The first ever WSJT QSO in Europe was held 10.07.2001 between GØRUZ (now PA5Y) and me (DG3GAG). That time WSJT software was brand new and a real experimental mode. It was possible for me to introduce and establish the meteor scatter calling frequency of 144.370 MHz in Europe. If you know this crest and you have anything to do with it I'll be happy if you like to contact me.
