DXCC #156 on 2m – St.Paul & EME init #800
Again a new DXCC on 2m. This time it was St.Paul Island DXCC CY9. In the moment a group of HF guys is there and along with them is Lee WW2DX who did successful J8/WW2DX 2m EME activity. Lee has for this DXped also a personal blog: http://www.ww2dx.com/ .He did setup a pair of 9el. yagis and around 600w power. At his first moonrise I was QRV for him to listen. He had a incredible signal with a strength up to -15dB (EME -J T65b mode – WSJT software) at his moonrise. A reason for this could be the ground gain over the sea. After one hour of participating the pileup his EME signal disappeared totally, the reason was a pole change from H to V as I’m only have H pol antennas. Another hour of waiting the signal came back and the I was able to work him for my 2m DXCC #156.
This is the CY9C setup at St.Paul
That’s the WSJT screen shot of my QSO
As I’m at the moon I worked some more stations for new initials (init=unique stations worked over the moon) and so I reached init #800 with N4QWZ
